The start of kennelling was delayed by 30 minutes due to the non arrival of the Veterinary Surgeon. The first race was amended to 6:48pm to allow enough time for the greyhounds to be kennelled.

Macadamia Rose was quick to begin.

Sight Screen, Dyna Ianto and Elke's Osti were slow to begin.

Elke's Osti and Dyna Ianto collided soon after the start. Macadamia Rose and Wok Djay collided on the home turn. Little Nova and Ricardo Sanchez collided on the home turn. Wok Djay marred Dyna Ianto entering the home straight severely checking Elke's Osti, Ricardo Sanchez and Pharoah's Dream. Pharoah's Dream and Elke's Osti collided in the home straight.

Sight Screen was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Debattista, the trainer of the greyhound Wok Djay regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Wok Djay with marring. Mr. Debattista pleaded guilty to the charge, Wok Djay was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr R.Tolson, the trainer of Go Close regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Go Close last raced on 26 July, 2017. Mr Tolson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a right monkey muscle injury. Mr. R. Tolson declared a new weight of 28.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Go Close last raced at 26.8kg.

Evil Pedro and Static Charge collided on the first turn. Shining Glitter and Izzy Kymtony collided on the first turn. Go Close and Izzy Kymtony collided entering the back straight checking Go Close which took no further competitive part in the event. Evil Pedro and Not Enough Cash collided in the back straight. Bottle Of Plonk clipped the heels of Evil Pedro approaching the second turn checking Bottle Of Plonk. Static Charge and Bottle Of Plonk collided on the second turn checking Bottle Of Plonk. Bottle Of Plonk galloped on the heels of Evil Pedro in the home straight.

Go Close was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both back muscles and minor hock soreness. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Tolson, the trainer of the greyhound Go Close.  Stewards deemed the performance of Go Close unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Go Close must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr S.Divers, the trainer of Whalepant regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Whalepant last raced on 13 April, 2017. Mr Divers stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a right sesamoid and right shoulder injury.

Proven Les and Whalephant were slow to begin.

Cullquin Abbey and Soap collided on the first turn checking Cullquin Abbey which collided with Flaming Causeway, causing Flaming Causeway to fall. Liscoyle Lass and Spot My Key collided on the first turn checking Spot My Key which lost ground. Proven Les and Whalephant collided approaching the home turn. Proven Les and Soap collided approaching the home turn. Whalephant clipped the heels of Soap on the home turn. Soap, Spot My Key and Why Not Archie collided on the home turn. Whalephant galloped on the heels of Soap entering the home straight. Soap and Why Not Archie collided in the home straight. Whalephant and Cullquin Abbey collided in the home straight.

Spot My Key was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left chest muscle and the right quadriceps. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.

Flaming Causeway was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a minor spike wound to the left fore foot. No stand down period was imposed.

Cool Al was slow to begin.

Chicken Parma, Tiza Fabio and Beejay's Lad collided on the first turn checking Tiza Fabio and Beejay's Lad. Tiza Fabio and Beejay's Lad collided entering the back straight checking Beejay's Lad. Air Commander, Tiza Fabio and Cool Al collided approaching the second turn. Beejay's Lad brushed the running rail approaching the home turn. Mr. T. Salpigtidis trainer of Perfect Rider declared a new weight of 30.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Perfect Rider last raced at 31.7kg.

Bourbon An Kahn and Loosey Jabna collided soon after the start. Beyond Today and Sturridge collided on the first turn. Perfect Rider, Loosey Jabna and Sunday Sipper collided on the first turn checking Perfect Rider. Sturridge checked off Perfect Rider on the home turn.

Scarecrow Tiger was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound had suffered mild thumps. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.

Duty Sheet was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right thigh muscle injury. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.

Urana Banjo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left wrist and left pencil muscle. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.
