Steward's Report
Dyna Raze, Go Seek Heidi and Libby's Dream were quick to begin. Be Like Bill was slow to begin. Water Colour and St. Regis collided soon after the start. Dyna Alice and St. Regis collided soon after the start. Dyna Alice, Be Like Bill and St. Regis collided soon after the start. Dyna Alley and Libby's Dream collided soon after the start. Water Colour checked off Go Seek Heidi on the first turn. Dyna Raze and Go Seek Heidi collided on the first turn, Dyna Raze stumbled and lost ground as a result. Dyna Alley galloped on the heels of Libby's Dream on the first turn. Dyna Raze checked off Go Seek Heidi on the first turn. Water Colour and Be Like Bill collided approaching the second turn. St. Regis galloped on the heels of Libby's Dream approaching the second turn, Libby's Dream fell was a result. Dyna Alley, Libby's Dream and St. Regis collided approaching the second turn, checking St. Regis. Dyna Alice hesitated approaching the second turn.
Dyna Alice was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left monkey and left shoulder, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. After speaking with Handler, Mr. J. Loverso and in assessing this incident in totality, it was apparent to Stewards that Dyna Alice hesitated simultaneously to the incident of Libby's Dream falling. The Stewards felt that this incident contributed directly to the actions of Dyna Alice at this stage of the race. In view of this, a charge of failing to chase was not preferred by Stewards and Dyna Alice was placed on a Satisfactory Trial, pursuant to GAR 71.
Libby's Dream was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
St. Regis was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
The racing surface in the vicinity of the catching pen area was inspected post race. It was safe and deemed suitable for racing.
A sample was taken from Water Colour - winner of the event.
