Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Thompson, the representative of the greyhound Big Flood regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Big Flood last raced on 26th April, 2017.  Mr. Thompson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a right hock injury.

Karise Fusileer was a late scratching at 7:10pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Supplementary Report (1/09/2017):

A vet certificate of clearance was produced for the greyhound Karise Fusileer on 1 September 2017, the stand down period was subsequently removed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Karabitsakos, the trainer of the greyhound Kay Kayla regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Kay Kayla last raced on 2nd May, 2017.  Mr. Karabitsakos stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a change of kennels.

Pacific Power was slow to begin and stumbled soon after the start.  Ruby Red Eden, Sports Knight, Destini Mermaid and Kay Kayla collided approaching the first turn.  Beljay Lilac faltered on the first turn and took no competitive part in the event. Pacific Power, Destini Mermaid and Kay Kayla collided on the first turn.  Ruby Red Eden raced wide approaching the second turn.  Total Magic tired in the concluding stages of the event.

Total Magic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hind hamstring injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
