Clowning Zems and Elgrande Rebel were slow to begin and collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn, severely checking both greyhounds. Hi Ho Ozario and Dorrigo Bale collided on the first turn, checking Hi Ho Ozario. Zefron checked off Fonty Allen approaching the home turn. Hi Ho Ozario checked off Zefron approaching the home turn. Pius Thicknesse checked off Gray Bale approaching the winning post.
