Burch Day was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both monkey muscles and the right groin, a 21 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Ms. D. Coleman trainer of July Allen regarding the length of time the greyhound had between races. July Allen last raced on 26th May 2017. Ms. Coleman stated that the greyhound had been recovering from a right fibular injury. 

Corleone King, Lion Rebel and Tiarna Keeping collided approaching the first turn, checking Lion Rebel. Handpass and July Allen collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Handpass and July Allen collided in the home straight.
