A pre-race sample was taken from Gully Fever.
Cracking Joe was quick to begin.
Amaroo Gonzales, Celtic Charm, Ima Reality, Laurie Galore and Jetmag Storm collided soon after the start checking Laurie Galore and severely checking Celtic Charm and Ima Reality. Laurie Galore faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off.
Laurie Galore was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hock injury and was humanely euthanised.
Amaroo Gonzales was vetted following the event. it was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hind foot, a 14 stand down period was imposed.
