Miracles Happen and Away We Go collided soon after the start. Derivation and South Of Eden collided soon after the start, and again approaching the first turn. Love To Dream checked off Away We Go on the first turn, and collided with Miracles Happen and Magic Vi, Love To Dream lost ground as a result. 

Love To Dream was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right monkey muscle and left triangle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Miss Dangerwood, Avatar Woody and Mister Cool were slow to begin. Serendipity Gold and Naomi Allen collided soon after the start, checking Naomi Allen. Spring Baker and Secret Chord collided on the first turn, checking Secret Chord, Miss Dangerwood, Mister Cool and Naomi Allen.  Naomi Allen and Mister Cool raced wide entering the home straight. Serendipity Gold raced very wide in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Miss Dangerwood, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

This race was delayed by 2 mintues due to Sky Chanel committments for a Swan Hilll harness race.

Kouta Excuses, Sariah Allen and Ace Gone Wild collided approaching the first turn. Lektra Aly, Brae's Bullet and Jam Lady collided on the first turn, checking Jam Lady. Stewards spoke to Mrs. L. Gore, representative of Orchard Road regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Orchard Road last raced on 3 April 2017, Mrs. Gore stated that Orchard Road was resuming racing following a left achilles injury. 

Macarthur Road and Cloona Magic collided soon after the start. Avatar Minty, Zambora Cash and Roy Boy collided soon after the start, checking Zambora Cash. Orchard Road, Avatar Minty, Roy Boy and Macarthur Road collided on the first turn, checking Orchard Road. Zambora Cash and Macarthur Road collided approaching the home turn.
