Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Cunneen, the trainer of Anjing Betina regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Anjing Betina last raced on 28th Janurary, 2016 and is a new addition to Mr Cunneen's kennel. 

Dusty Daze was very slow to begin (5 lengths).  Stormy Jack checked off Anjing Betina soon after the start.  Anjing Betina and Arvo's Nico collided on the first turn checking Anjing Betina, Sultan's Boy, Stormy Jack, Flying Stealth and Admire Black and severely checking Arvo's Nico and Moe Magic; Arvo's Nico and Moe Magic both stumbled and Moe Magic lost balance and subsequently tailed off as a result.  Stormy Jack crossed to the outside approaching the home turn and collided several times with Anjing Betina severely checking Anjing Betina.  Sultan's Boy crossed to the outside approaching the home turn and marred the running of Anjing Betina; Stormy Jack was checked as a result.  Stormy Jack and Flying Stealth collided in the home straight checking Flying Stealth.  

Stewards spoke to Ms. G. Elston, the trainer of the greyhound Stormy Jack regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Stormy Jack was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right hock and right triangle muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Stormy Jack with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms. Elston pleaded guilty to the charge.  Stormy Jack was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Arvo's Nico was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle and spike wounds to its right calf, left metacarpal and left hock.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Sultan's Boy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right thigh and a spike wound to its right hind leg.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Sultana, the trainer of the greyhound Sultan's Boy regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Sultan's Boy with marring.  Mr. Sultana pleaded not guilty to the charge.  Sultan's Boy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Moe Magic was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 4, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to its left front metacarpal.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Flying Stealth was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right deltoid muscle.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. R. Boyce, the trainer of the greyhound Flying Stealth regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.

Mates Blue was quick to begin.  Energised and Plexida were slow to begin.  There's Steamy and Mates Blue collided soon after the start checking There's Steamy.  Happy Colour and Regal Note collided approaching the first turn.  Regal Note and Plexida collided on the first turn.  Ready Sebi Go raced wide approaching the home turn.

Master Mordecai, Hurricane Craig and Arvo's Steva were slow to begin.  Hurricane Craig and Arvo's Steva collided soon after the start checking Arvo's Steva. Azza's Baby checked off Midori Miss approaching the first turn.  Meteor Thunder and Lucky Andy collided on the first turn.  Lucky Andy checked off Midori Miss approaching the home turn.  Master Mordecai and Meteor Thunder collided approaching the home turn causing Meteor Thunder to check off Midori Miss. Azza's Baby and Hurricane Craig collided approaching the home turn.

An Out of Competition sample was taken from Joe Handson, engaged in this event, on Tuesday 3rd May, 2016, pursuant to GAR 79A.

Mugs Away and Alotta Memories collided soon after the start.  Mugs Away and Gee Whiz Gran collided approaching the first turn checking Gee Whiz Gran. Joe Handson checked off He Ain't Sweet approaching the first turn; Joe Handson lost considerable ground as a result.  Joe Handson and Alotta Memories collided on the first turn severely checking Joe Handson.  Mugs Away and Alotta Memories collided on the home turn.  Oh Lele Simon and Mugs Away collided in the home straight.

Joe Handson was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Samples were taken from the first three placegetters in this event - He Ain't Sweet (1st), Niki's Lad (2nd) and Mugs Away (3rd).

Maidstone Febey was a late scratching at 8:58am due to injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Castle's Memory, Nods One, Destini Lass and Dr. Trojan were slow to begin.  Castle's Memory and Nods One collided soon after the start checking Nods One. Smiley Girl and Destini Lass collided approaching the first turn checking Smiley Girl.

Zou Zou Nee and Bugs Boloney were quick to begin.  Dusty Sky was slow to begin.  Lyley Lass clipped the heels of Zou Zou Nee approaching the first turn checking Zou Zou Nee.  Zou Zou Nee and Botanic Lass collided approaching the first turn checking Zou Zou Nee.  Botanic Lass and Lyley Lass collided approaching the first turn checking Lyley Lass.  Botanic Lass and Veetee Mist collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

He Throws Bombs was slow to begin.  Call Me Scary, Cost Cutter and Billy Bubba collided approaching the first turn.  I'm Pumped and Groover Groover collided approaching the first turn.  Carly Jay crossed to the rail on the first turn checking I'm Pumped, Groover Groover and Billy Bubba.  I'm Pumped checked off Carly Jay approaching the home turn checking Groover Groover.  He Throws Bombs and Billy Bubba collided entering the home straight.

This event was delayed by approximately two and a half minutes due to delays in the kennelling area.

In The Flesh and Diamond Maxine were slow to begin.  Roxy's Pride and Make That Call collided approaching the first turn checking Make That Call.  Roll 'Em Missy and Chase On Case collided approaching the first turn checking Chase On Case.  Make That Call checked off In The Flesh entering the home straight.

Spritely Geared and Salute The Bar were quick to begin.  What's The Goss was slow to begin.  Salute The Bar and Jazzy Fizzle collided approaching the first turn checking Jazzy Fizzle.  Roberts and What's The Goss collided approaching the home turn checking Roberts.  Jazzy Fizzle and What's The Goss collided approaching the home turn checking What's The Goss and Wicked Intent and severely checking Jazzy Fizzle which stumbled as a result.  Run Sienna Run and Wicked Intent collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Roberts and What's The Goss collided entering the home straight.  Roberts checked off Run Sienna Run in the home straight.

Jazzy Fizzle was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Hurricane Aussie was slow to begin.  My Pocket Rocket and Lulu Noir collided approaching the first turn checking Lulu Noir.  Anoteros, Hurricane Aussie and Lulu Noir collided approaching the first turn checking Lulu Noir and severely checking Anoteros.  Simple and Bandit Brad collided approaching the home turn checking Simple.

Lumumba was a late scratching at 11:50am on the advice of the Club's Veterinary surgeon due to illness. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Molly Walker and Yelredda Flyer collided soon after the start.  Thorn And Roses and Showgirl Miss collided approaching the first turn.  Thorn And Roses checked off Fallen Star on the first turn checking Showgirl Miss and Yelredda Flyer.  Showgirl Miss and Yelredda Flyer collided approaching the home turn. Molly Walker and Big Burkey collided on the home turn checking Molly Walker.  Thorn And Roses and Fallen Star collided in the home straight.  Fallen Star tired over the concluding stages of the event.

Kathy's Queen was quick to begin.  Arvo's Tayzer and Macey's Queen collided soon after the start checking Arvo's Tayzer.  Macey's Queen checked off Elfie approaching the first turn.  Buckle Up Vicki, Elfie and Harsh Miles collided on the first turn severely checking Buckle Up Vicki which stumbled as a result. Kathy's Queen and Harsh Miles collided on the first turn checking Kathy's Queen.  Buckle Up Vicki and Arvo's Tayzer collided on the first turn.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Talgi, the trainer of Prime Suspect regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Prime Suspect last raced on 28th October 2015.  Mr. Talgi stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season and a left metacarpal injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Prime Suspect trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 6, weight 25.9kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.68.  The greyhound won by a margin of 8.25 lengths.  Prime Suspect was cleared. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Trim, the trainer of Kaitoke Diamond regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Kaitoke Diamond last raced on 24th October 2015.  Mr. Trim stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being new to his kennel and a right hind ligament injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Kaitoke Diamond trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 8, weight 30.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.68.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 13.25 lengths.  Kaitoke Diamond was cleared.
