A pre-race sample was taken from Mon Mekki Kahn.
Jessio Fozzio was slow to begin.
Bossy Caleb, Mon Mekki Kahn, Kiyoshi, Patch Lane and Ripsaw Ronny collided soon after the start, checking Kiyoshi and Patch Lane. Patch Lane faltered soon after the start and tailed off as a result. Bugs Boloney, Bossy Caleb, Kiyoshi and Jessio Fozzio raced wide in the home straight.
Patch Lane was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right tensor fascia muscle injury (triangle). A 21-day stand down period was imposed.
