Dynamic Rainbow and Leading The Way were quick to begin.  Row Tay Tom, Shades Of Lippy and Iona Whiteflash were slow to begin.  Shades Of Lippy checked off Fiery Starlet soon after the start.  Row Tay Tom checked off Royal Bruno on the first turn, causing Row Tay Tom to collided with Iona Whiteflash which raced wide as a result.  Row Tay Tom raced wide in the back straight.  Dynamic Rainbow checked off Leading The Way in the back straight.  Shades Of Lippy checked off Fiery Starlet in the back straight.  Iona Whiteflash raced wide in the home straight.

Iona Whiteflash was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing on the left hind paw, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was unable to be obtained from Empress Lu - a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Proven Kodiak, Tiger Butch, Popowski and Perceptive collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Proven Kodiak, Tiger Butch and Popowski causing Proven Kodiak to contact the running rail.  Empress Lu and King Of Diamonds collided entering the home straight.

Proven Kodiak was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sutained an injured left pencil muscle and abrasions to the left ulna and left metatarsal, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to A Patten, the trainer of Coup De Kahn regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Coup De Kahn last raced on 22 February 2017. A Patten stated that the greyhound had recently changed kennels.
