Stewards spoke to Mr Bradley Keel, the kennel representative of Shades Of Earl, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Shades Of Earl last raced on 27th December 2017.  Mr Keel  stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an injury to the right hind toe. Mr Keel also declared a new weight of 33.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Shades Of Earl last raced at 32.5kg.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Big Boy Rocket trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 30.6kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.49, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.25L. Big Boy Rocket was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr David Keanelly, the trainer of Mahjong Prince, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Mahjong Prince last raced on 24th September 2016. Mr Keanelly stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following fractures to both metacarpals. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Mahjong Prince trialled over the 390m from box 3, weight 36.9kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.49, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.25L.  Mahjong Prince was cleared.
