Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr C Galea, the trainer of Galester Hook, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Galester Hook last raced on 20 January 2017. Mr Galea stated that the greyhound was returning from a left hind toe ligament injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Yenderra Blue.
Yenderra Blue and Desert Spike collided soon after the start. Galester Hook, Price Tag, One More Tom and Zall Good collided soon after the start. Thunder Of Sky clipped the heels of Desert Spike on the first turn, resulting in Thunder Of Sky falling and subsequently tailed off, checking Galester Hook, Price Tag and One More Tom. Galester Hook, Price Tag and One More Tom collided approaching the home turn.
Thunder Of Sky was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hind foot and a left hindleg thigh injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
