Colonel was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Detroit Wally, Flash Bobbie and Gotcha Mate were slow to begin.  Detroit Wally and Flash Bobbie collided approaching the first turn.  Jebreco Surprise and Blue Cat Wombat collided on the first turn checking Blue Cat Wombat and Flash Bobbie.  Detroit Wally and Blue Cat Wombat collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn.  Flash Bobbie raced wide on the home turn.

Knightrider was quick to begin.  Bigtime Raider was slow to begin.  Cheeky Cricket was severely checked off Meehan Deano on the first turn causing Cheeky Cricket to contact the running rail checking Why Not Dawn and Bigtime Raider as a result.  Meehan Deano and Knightrider collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Cairo Calling and Midnight Max collided on the first turn checking Midnight Max.  Cheeky Cricket and Bigtime Raider collided on the home turn and again approaching the winning post.

A pre race sample was taken from Owen Banks.

Don's Machine, Noaki Colour, Bernmar Terry and Dynamic Deano were slow to begin.  Don's Machine and Noaki Colour collided on the first turn causing Don's Machine to fall severely checking Dynamic Deano as a result.  Why Not Cory and Artistic Alyssa collided on the first turn checking Why Not Cory.  Trixta Rox and Artistic Alyssa raced wide on the home turn.

Don's Machine was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Dynamic Deano was vetted and after being re vetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound was found to have mild soreness in the left shoulder, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Delta Bad Hand.

Delta Bad Hand was quick to begin.  Last Princess was slow to begin.  Reality Bomber and Our Mojo collided soon after the start checking Our Mojo.  Our Mojo, Reality Bomber, Belron Brum, Last Princess and Jarrad Keats collided on the first turn checking Reality Bomber, Belron Brum and Jarrad Keats and severely checking Last Princess.  Reality Bomber checked off Belron Brum on the first turn.

Reality Bomber was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising and swelling to the right foreleg and a small spike wound to the left foreleg, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

This race was hand started due to a fault with the trip starting system.

Mister Heeney was slow to begin.  Leopardstown checked off Always About Me approaching the second turn.  Mister Heeney and Blue Alcatraz collided on the home turn.

Bobby's Baby was a late scratching at 4:26pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer Mrs. M. Bourke was fined the sum of $100.

Avon Glory and Boss Senor were quick to begin.  Chase's Chance, Lissa Breen and Veetee Mist were slow to begin.  Avon Glory and River Crossing collided approaching the first turn.  Avon Glory checked off Boss Senor entering the back straight.  Wot Price Flash and Boss Senor collided on the second turn.  Macrory checked off Veetee Mist on the home turn.  Avon Glory and Wot Price Flash collided approaching the winning post.

A pre race sample was unable to be taken from Riverbank Rogue a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Akina Blitz and Light The Track were slow to begin.  Akina Blitz, Destini Montana and Riverbank Rogue collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Destini Montana and Riverbank Rogue collided on the second turn checking Riverbank Rogue and Akina Blitz.

Princess Shae and Our Gal Livy were slow to begin.  Princess Shae checked off Corroboree entering the back straight.  Wild Hunny raced wide on the home turn.

A sample was taken from Star Of Anand - the winner of the event.

A pre race sample was taken from Crickets Dash.

Zipping Cuz was slow to begin.  Hundred and Simply Mystic collided approaching the first turn.  Hundred, Zipping Cuz, Eduardo Rose and Stolen collided approaching the first turn checking Zipping Cuz and Eduardo Rose.  Crickets Dash and One More Tom collided on the first turn.  Simply Mystic checked off Hundred on the first turn.  Zipping Cuz raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight.

A pre race sample was unable to be obtained from No Money Down upon arrival at the course, a subsequent pre race sample was taken.  

Move That Energy and Peninsula Panda were slow to begin.  Zipping Emma checked off Milla Rose approaching the first turn checking Move That Energy.  No Money Down and Landon collided approaching the first turn checking No Money Down.  Milla Rose and Kerrie's One collided approaching the home turn.  Kerrie's One and Peninsula Panda collided entering the home straight.  Zipping Emma and No Money Down collided entering the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Light 'Em Nash trialled over the 440m from box 8, weight 33.0kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.   The time of the trial was 24.99, the greyhound won by a margin of 9.75 lengths.  Light 'Em Nash was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Bad Size trialled over the 440m from box 1, weight 26.3kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 24.99,  the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.75 lengths.   Bad Size was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Eskimo Pie trialled over the 440m from box 6, weight 32.8 kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 24.99,  the greyhound was beated by a margin of 14.75 lengths.  Eskimo Pie was Not Cleared. (Checked on the first turn)  (Eskimo Pie marred Macalister Sam in the home straight).

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Jennings the trainer of Macalister Sam regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Macalister Sam last raced on 16th October, 2016. Mr. Jennings stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being spelled.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Macalister Sam trialled over the 440m from box 3, weight 29.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.99,  the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 13.75 lengths.  Macalister Sam was Cleared. (Checked on the first turn).
