Stewards spoke to Ms A. Terry, the trainer of Bright New Shine regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Bright New Shine last raced on the 13th of December 2016. Ms Terry  stated that the greyhound was returning from a Right Stopper Injury.

Bright New Sunshine was quick to begin.  Vallexia was slow to begin.  Moto Girl was very slow to begin (3 lengths) and stumbled soon after the start.  Blue Addiction and Vallexia collided soon after the start.  Bright New Shine crossed to the rail soon after the start.  Magic Spider and Big Kenny Bobo collided soon after the start, severely checking Magic Spider which stumbled and lost ground.  Big Kenny Bobo and Macauliff collided at the 300m mark, severely checking Big Kenny Bobo and checking Vallexia.

Cailah Skakey was slow to begin.  Galo's Best crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Laurence Avenue.  Fear Valley and Glib Lightning collided at the 300m mark, checking Fear Valley.  Fear Valley checked off Urana Banjo at the 250m mark.  Fear Valley and Urana Banjo collided at the 100m mark.

La Reina was quick to begin.  No Money Down and Silver Banjo collided soon after the start.  Any Other Union and Laurie Galore collided soon after the start.  Silver Banjo, Any Other Union and Laurie Galore collided at the 300m mark and again at the 250m mark.  Leaf Spring and Sunset Believer collided at the 150m mark.

Fear Fire was slow to begin.  Weasley Grange, Hide The Wallet, Starlight Jill, Puzzle And Me and Jersey collided soon after the start, checking Starlight Jill, Puzzle And Me and Jersey.  Fear Fire and Puzzle And Me collided at the 250m mark.  Weasley Grange and Cool Boots collided at the 150m mark and again at the 100m mark.

Mac and Sissy Monsoon collided soon after the start, checking Mac.  Tommy Two and On Billy's Wings collided soon after the start, at the 300m mark and again at the 250m mark.  Tommy Two checked off On Billy's Wings at the 200m mark.  Adala Boy and Sissy Monsoon collided at the 200m mark checking both greyhounds.  Adala Boy and Sissy Monsoon collided at the 150m mark checking both greyhounds.

Seriously Wicked was quick to begin.  Price Tag and Midnight Flynn were slow to begin.  Midnight Flynn crossed to the outside soon after the start. Leave Me Out and Blackjack's Back collided at the 300m mark.  Splash Of White and Leave Me Out collided at the 250m maark.  Splash Of White checked off Price Tag at the 100m mark.  Leave Me Out and Seriously Wicked collided approaching the winning post.

Cougar Stealth and Vintage Warrior were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.  Squirto and Dozer Lad collided soon after the start.  Cougar Stealth, Vintage Warrior and Dance Craze collided at the 250m mark.

Cullquin Bomber, Early Thunder and Splash Of Blue were slow to begin.  Cullquin Bomber and Early Thunder collided soon after the start, checking Cullquin Bomber.  Splash Of Blue and Like A Fancy collided at the 250m mark.  Early Thunder and Don The Sash collided at the 50m mark.

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Russell, the trainer of King Gibbo regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. King Gibbo last raced on the 10th of December 2016. Mr Russell stated that the greyhound was returning from being spelled and a change of kennel.

King Gibbo was slow to begin.  Zipping Simmo and Taytor Tot collided soon after the start.  Amlin Prince and Gardot collided several times from the 300m mark until the 200m mark.

Vefah Victory was slow to begin.  Jonny Bravo, Mr. Swan and Fairy Vixen collided soon after the start.  Kosmik King checked off Jonny Bravo at the 200m mark.  Iconic Chief and Fairy Vixen collided at the 100m mark and again at the 50m mark.

It's All Over was slow to begin.  Two Seasons, Roman Around and Paula's Delight collided at the 200m mark, checking Roman Around.  Two Season and Massive Attack collided approaching the winning post, checking both greyhounds.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Jones, the handler of Patriotic Star regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Patriotic Star last raced on the 3rd of January 2017. Mr Jones  stated that the greyhound was returning after a change in kennel. 

Stewards spoke to Mr R.Boyce, the trainer of King Mischief regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. King Mischief last raced on the 23rd of December 2016. Mr Boyce stated that the greyhound was returning after a change of kennel.

A pre-race sample was taken from Cee Cee Senor.

Dozer Gold was slow to begin.  Donkey Tron, Cee Cee Senor and Sundance Lad collided soon after the start, checking Donkey Tron which raced wide as a result.  Franklin Pearl and Cee Cee Senor collided at the 100m mark.  King Mischief faltered approaching the winning post.

King Mischief was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left wrist and left shoulder, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to A Marraffa, the trainer of Smithers regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Smithers last raced on 3 December 2015. A Marraffa stated that the greyhound was returning from an extended spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Smithers trialled over the 300m from box 1, weight 33.2kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 17.08, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6 1/2 lengths. Smithers was cleared.
