A pre-race sample was taken from Midnite Starling.
Midnite Starling and Monster Machine were slow to begin.
Reality Bomber, Headline News and Forever Cousins collided approaching the first turn, checking Reality Bomber and Headline News. Reality Bomber contacted the running rail on the first turn. Monster Machine and King Cigar collided on the first turn, severely checking both greyhounds. Midnite Starling checked off Rated on the first turn. Reality Bomber checked off Headline News approaching the home turn. Rated raced wide on the home turn.
Reality Bomber was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left long head triceps (monkey), sartorius (pencil) and tensor fascia (triangle) muscles, and a 3mm laceration on the left elbow. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
