Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Miller, the trainer of Kilcolegan Cross regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Kilcolegan Cross last raced on 12 Oct 16. Mr. K. Miller stated that the greyhound was resuming to racing following a seasonal spell.
A pre race sample was taken from Our Luck.
Black Salve, What Stopping Ya and Kilcolegan Cross collided soon after the start, checking Black Salve and Kilcolegan Cross. Texas Blaze and Black Salve collided approaching the first turn, checking bothg greyhounds. What Stopping Ya checked off Our Luck on the first turn. Our Luck checked off Black Salve on the first turn. Dream of Success raced wide entering the home straight. Kilcolegan Cross checked off Our Luck entering the home straight.
Black Salve was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to the right hund paw, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
