A pre-race sample was taken from Westcoast Boy.

Westcoast Boy, Pistol, Sweet Freyr, Scarlet Twice and Jakey Missile were slow to begin.  Pristina Lad and Lucinda collided approaching the first turn. Westcoast Boy and Jakey Missile collided approaching the home turn checking Jakey Missile.  Lucinda eased in the home straight and collided with Pristina Lad several times.  Lucinda marred Pristina Lad approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Height, the trainer of the greyhound Lucinda regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Lucinda was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right fibula, right triangle muscle and left hind saddle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Lucinda with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Height pleaded guilty to the charge.  Lucinda was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Pristina Lad, the winner of the event.

Tiger Ty Vic was quick to begin.  Ruby Red Eden and Light The Track collided soon after the start.  Tiger Ty Vic and Shadow Diamond collided on the first turn. Jayanti raced wide on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Long, the trainer of Kimba Katani regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Kimba Katani last raced on 24th November 2016 and is returning to race after a left foot injury and seasonal spell.

Jen's Magic, Why Not Will and Kimba Katani were slow to begin.  Jakey Rocket checked off Long Live Sid soon after the start.  Bowon Approach and Long Live Sid collided approaching the first turn.  Bowon Approach checked off Jen's Magic on the first turn.  Bowon Approach and Long Live Sid collided approaching the winning post.

Kimba Katani was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right wrist and left fibula.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Rodeo was slow to begin.  Chugalug, Santana and Candyo collided approaching the first turn checking Chugalug and Santana.  Santana checked off Rodeo on the first turn.  Chugalug checked off Tiger Bobby approaching the home turn.

Bugs Boloney and Let's Go Billy collided soon after the start.  Nat crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Max Roxy, Cosmic Sole and Gotta Permit.  Bugs Boloney checked off Let's Go Billy approaching the first turn.  Bronelly Spike, Gotta Permit and Lady Of Ellie collided on the first turn checking Bronelly Spike, Lady Of Ellie and Max Roxy.  Bronelly Spike and Lady Of Ellie collided approaching the home turn.  Nat raced wide on the home turn. Bronelly Spike and Gotta Permit collided in the home straight.

Princess Shae and King Of Diamonds were slow to begin.  King Of Diamonds checked off Got Ya Back on the first turn.  Dr. Shanice, King Of Diamonds and Got Ya Back collided approaching the home turn checking Dr. Shanice and King Of Diamonds.  Dr. Shanice and King Of Diamonds raced wide in the home straight.

Princess Shae was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right stifle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Clifton, the trainer of Starlight Lucy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Starlight Lucy last raced on 26th November 2016 and is returning to race after a right back muscle injury.

A pre-race sample was taken from Daintree Rhumba upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Jupiter Jones was slow to begin.  Starlight Lucy, My Sirion and Brindle Audrey collided soon after the start checking My Sirion.  Celtic Fire and Tricky Trey collided on the home turn.  Starlight Lucy and Daintree Rhumba collided on the home turn.  Jupiter Jones checked off Diamond Maxine entering the home straight and causing both greyhounds to race wide as a result.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Celtic Fire, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Habana City was a late scratching at 11:11am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a right wrist injury.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Imperatori, the trainer of Duporth Avenue regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Duporth Avenue last raced on 8th December 2016 and is returning to race after a rear foot injury.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Nolan, the trainer of Knocka Feller regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Knocka Feller last raced on 18th December 2016 and is returning to race after a spell.

Smiley Bynes crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Knocka Feller.  Moody Ruby and Smiley Bynes collided approaching the first turn.  Aruma Girl checked off Tiger Ty Bob approaching the first turn.  Moody Ruby and Smiley Bynes collided on the home turn.  Moody Ruby crossed to the outside entering the home straight checking Smiley Bynes, Aruma Girl and Spotted Opal; Spotted Opal stumbled as a result.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Moody Ruby upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.  A subsequent pre-race sample was also unable to be obtained.  A post race sample was subsequently taken.

Roland View was slow to begin.  Sixty Three and Kayla Las collided soon after the start.  Opal Latte and Kayla Las collided approaching the home turn.  Peta Sketa checked off Vanilla Kiss entering the home straight checking First Target.  First Target and Opal Latte raced wide in the home straight.

Mr. M. Long, trainer of Lulu Noir declared a new weight of 29.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Lulu Noir last raced at 28.0kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Machiko.

Da Mishka and Azza were slow to begin.  Loving Angels, Map It Out and Showgirl Miss collided on he first turn; Map It Out faltered and tailed off as a result. Machiko and Da Mishka collided on the first turn.  Azza checked off Lulu Noir on the first turn.  Black Selandra raced wide approaching the home turn.  Lulu Noir and Azza collided entering the home straight.

Map It Out was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right back muscle.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. P. Burns, the trainer of Buckle Up Jem regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Buckle Up Jem last raced on 7th December 2016 and is returning to race after a spell.

A pre-race sample was taken from One More Des.

Come On Lassy was slow to begin.  Come On Lassy checked off Locomotion approaching the first turn severely checking Come On Lassy which tailed off as a result.  Just Like Jim and Locomotion collided on the first turn.  Just Like Jim, Buckle Up Jem and Kiyoshi raced wide in the home straight.

Come On Lassy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its pectoral muscle.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Minne regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Locomotion.  Stewards directed that Locomotion be boxed first in future events.

Satisfactory Trial Results

She's A Beaut trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 8, weight 27.5kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.17. The greyhound won by a margin of a nose.  She's A Beaut was cleared.
