Simon Keeping and Rebecca Bale were slow to begin.  Sariah Allen checked off Wonder Doug soon after the start.  Van Ann, Wonder Doug and Sariah Allen collided approaching the first turn, checking Sariah Allen.  Sariah Allen, Titanium Boy and Simon Keeping collided on the first turn, causing Simon Keeping to race wide.  Bent Nail, Van Ann and Rebecca Bale collided on the first turn and again on the second turn, checking Van Ann.

A pre-race sample was taken from Cha Ching Ching.  During the sample process the Club's Veterinary Surgeon advised that Cha Ching Ching was on season and subsequently Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the greyhound at 2:10 pm.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Dyna Greg and Bonnie Beauty collided soon after the start.  Renew and Dynamic Deano collided soon after the start.  Bonnie Beauty and Amy Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Renew and Amy Bale.  Renew and Dynamic Deano collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Dyna Greg checked off Chasin' Crackers on the second turn.

A sample was taken from Mepunga Blaze - the winner of the event.

Dynamic Deano was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg pencil/whip injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Ms Kelly Bravo, handler of Karvardi, declared a new weight of 36.0 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Karvardi last raced at 34.8 kgs.

Gunai Chief and Nicky's Gift were quick to begin.  Chardy and Spring Ripper were slow to begin.  Gunai Chief and Nicky's Gift collided soon after the start.  On Trend, Chardy, Spring Ripper, Iris Allen and Elle Bale collided on the first turn, checking Spring Ripper and Iris Allen, and severely checking On Trend and Elle Bale which both stumbled and lost considerable ground. Gunai Chief and Chardy collided in the back straight.  Elle Bale checked off On Trend on the third turn.  Gunai Chief, Chardy and Iris Allen collided entering the home straight, checking Gunai Chief.  

A pre-race sample was taken from Jet Hawk.

Jet Hawk and Zipping Jake collided soon after the start, checking Jet Hawk.  Zipping Jake, Sheza Slingshot, Dr Condor, Precious Destini and Cheekers collided on the first turn, checking Sheza Slingshop and severely checking Zipping Jake, Dr Condor, Precious Destini and Cheekers.  Star Fever and Miss Lava collided on the second turn.  Precious Destini raced wide approaching the winning post and collided with Zipping Jake.

Zipping Jake was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the right foreleg foot and right rump, and a left hindleg back injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr Stanley Ralph, the trainer of Zipping Jake regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Ann's Moment.

Ann's Moment and Diamond were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.  Wait There and Harlem Shake collided approaching the first turn.  Fear The Boss checked off Lucky Seed on the first turn.  Ann's Moment, Diamond, Dr Compulsion and Harlem Shake collided on the first turn, checking Diamond and Dr Compulsion.  Fear The Boss checked off Wait There on the second turn, checking Harlem Shake.  Diamond and Dr Compulsion collided on the second turn.  Lucky Seed and Ann's Moment collided approaching the home turn.  Wait There, Ann's Moment and Diamond collided entering the home straight, checking Ann's Moment.  Fear The Boss and Lucky Seed collided in the home straight.

Onya Teddy, Fab Harriet and Jake were slow to begin.  Onya Teddy galloped on the heels of Dr Kestrel approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Jake and Stevron Autos collided approaching the first turn.  Onya Teddy, Fab Harriet and Jake collided on the first turn, checking all three greyhounds.  Onya Teddy crossed to the outside on the first turn.

A sample was taken from Exs And Ohs - the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr G Laidlay, the handler of Miss Ruby Jean regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Miss Ruby Jean last raced on 29 November 2016.  Mr Laidlay stated that the greyhound was returning from a left triangle injury.

A pre-race sample was taken from Oppie Bale.

Dashing Moments was quick to begin.  Banjo Fever was slow to begin.  Osanna, Surfonic Gold and Banjo Fever collided soon after the start.  Surfonic Gold and Bont's Magic collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Miss Ruby Jean crossed to the outside on the second turn, checking Miss Ruby Jean and Banjo Fever, causing both greyhounds to race wide as a result.  Bont's Magic checked off Surfonic Gold approaching the home turn.

Dyna Zaynabi was a late scratching at 8:31 am, due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Nolen's Fortune.

What Iam Iam, was vetted prior to the event, following a request from Mr Rocky Crisafi, the trainer of the greyhound.  Acting on the advice from Veterinary Surgeon, Dr T James, Stewards approved Mr Crisafi's request for the greyhound, What Iam Iam, to be placed in an early race in the future.

Aston Selena was quick to begin.  Zipping Luna was slow to begin.  What Iam Iam checked off Aston Selena soon after the start.  Sly Shiraz and Nolen's Fortune collided approaching the first turn.  Aston Selena and Jimmy Newob collided on the first turn.  What Iam Iam checked off Zipping Luna on the first turn.

Dundee Ally was a late scratching at 8:25pm on 4 March 2017, due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
