Steward's Report
Sam's General was quick to begin. Alezan was slow to begin. Gomer Bale and Iona Everest collided approaching the first turn, checking Iona Everest. Dyna Bevlin galloped on Lektra Fire approaching the first turn. Lektra Fire checked off Sam's General on the first turn. Sam's General and Master Riot collided on the first turn, checking Sam's General. Dyna Bevlin and Alezan collided on the first turn, checking Alezan. Dyna Bevlin eased in the home straight and collided with Lektra Fire, checking Lektra Fire. Dyna Bevlin checked off Master Riot approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Ms K Heinrich, the kennel representative of the greyhound Dyna Bevlin regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Dyna Bevlin was vetted and re-vetted following race five. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hindleg. No stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dyna Bevlin with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Heinrich pleaded guilty to the charge, Dyna Bevlin was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
