Steward's Report
Oakmont Twister and Cockys' Boy collided soon after the start. Oakmont Twister checked off Cockys' Boy approaching the winning post. Oak's Raven, Spritely Lad and Talented Miss collided on the first turn checking Talented Miss. Oak's Raven checked off Rock Lion approaching the home turn. Cockys' Boy and Rock Lion collided approaching the home turn checking Cockys' Boy. Spritely Lad and Oak's Raven collided approaching the home turn checking Oak's Raven. Oak's Raven raced wide on the home turn checking Oakmont Twister. Spritely Lad crossed in and marred Rock Lion approaching the winning post severely checking Rock Lion and Talented Miss. Cockys' Boy eased approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Smit, the trainer of the greyhound Cockys' Boy regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Cockys' Boy was vetted and after being re vetted after event 12 it was reported that the greyhound was found to have muscle soreness in the right gracilis, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Cockys' Boy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Smit pleaded guilty to the charge Cockys' Boy was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Spritely Lad was vetted following the event. It was reported that the the greyhound was found to have muscle soreness in the left shoulder, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Hughes, the trainer of the greyhound Spritely Lad regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Spritely Lad with marring. Mr. Hughes pleaded not guilty to the charge, Spritely Lad was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
