Galo's Best was a late scratching at 2.22 PM on Veterinary advice (GAR 37)(fleas). Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Graphite Jack went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (5 lengths). Queen La Fipa and Why Not Becky collided soon after the start. Queen La Becky checked off Kate Bale on the home turn. Queen La Fipa crossed to the outside in the home straight.

Stewards with held the All Clear to view the head on footage of the start. Stewads deemed Graphite Jack was afforded a fair start and the All Clear was given on the Judge's numbers 8, 6, 3, 1.

Merl's Angel was a late scratching at 1.16 PM due to a webbing injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Chilling Effect was quick to begin. Why Not Will, Cathy's Tiger and Riverdale Cocky were slow to begin. Snow Bomber and Rana Allen collided approaching the first turn, checking Snow Bomber. Cathy's Tiger raced wide on the home turn. Why Not Will and Vee Power collided entering the home straight, checking both greyhounds. Riverdale Cocky raced wide throughout the event.

Emgee Sprinter and Gameron Bale were slow to begin. Bruce Mae checked off Yabba Dabba Do soon after the start. Page Boy and Blackpool Alexis collided soon after the start. Gameron Bale and Bruce Mae collided approaching the first turn, checking Gameron Bale, Bruce Mae, Haywire Boy and Emgee Sprinter. Page Boy and Blackpool Alexis collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Gameron Bale raced wide approaching the home turn. Bruce Mae and Blackpool Alexis collided approaching the home turn, checking Blackpool Alexis. Haywire Boy raced wide on the home turn. Radicoll Arandt and Blackpool Alexis collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

Haywire Boy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds, a three day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Morshead, the trainer of Don's Magic regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Don's Magic last raced on 17th of Ocotober, 2016. Mr. Morshead stated that Don's Magic is returning to racing from being on season.

Don's Magic was slow to begin. Shakey Sally crossed to the inside soon after the start, checking Octo Burn, Helen Allen and Merl's Blaze. Take The Rapid and Zipping Maro collided soon after the start. Take The Rapid, Don's Magic, Helen Allen and Octo Burn collided on the first turn, checking Don's Magic, Helen Allen and Octo Burn, and severely checking Take The Rapid. Helen Allen and Octo Burn collided on the home turn. Helen Allen crossed to the inside in the home straight, checking Octo Burn.

Cheryl's Boy went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Zipping Maisy and Yad Mai collided soon after the start. Queen Allen and Winston Cruise collided approaching the first turn. Zipping Maisy and Yad Mai collided on the first turn. Queen Allen galloped on the heels of Winston Cruise on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Yad Mai crossed to the outside on the first turn, checking Zipping Maisy. Yad Mai raced wide approaching the home turn. Crackerjack Brom and Winston Cruise collided on the home turn. 

Baba O'Riley, Mercat and Ellie's Blue were slow to begin. Linda Bale and Motors Too Fast collided soon after the start. Bellachino was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Kubik regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Mercat.  Stewards directed that Mercat be boxed first in future events. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Kelly, the trainer of Kynan's Revenge regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Kynan's revenge last raced on 20th of october, 2016. Mr. Kely stated that Kynan's revenge is returning to racing from a change of kennel. Mr. Kelly also declared a new weight of 33.0 kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Kynan's Revenge last raced at 31.9 kg's.

Kynan's Revenge was quick to begin. Alouette Josie was sloe to begin. Fran Allen and Blackpool Donny collided soon after the start. Fran Allen, Blackpool Donny and Roy Boy collided approaching the first turn, checking all three greyhounds. Fran Allen and Blackpool Donny collided on the first turn. Kynan's Revenge and Bonna Bale collided approaching the home turn, checking Kynan's Revenge. Kynan's Revenge checked off Bonna Bale on the home turn, checking Roy Boy. Kynan's Revenge and Later Skaters collided on the home turn, checking Kynan's Revenge, Later Skaters and Exford Peggy. Ms. P. Boots, handler of Hagrid Grange declared a new weight of 28.5 kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hagrid Grange last raced at 27.1 kg's.

Hagrid Grange was vetted following the event. It was reported that a sprain to the left wrist and an injury to the left hip muscle, a ten day stand down period was imposed. 

Meeting comments: 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mrs. H. Collins, the representative of Quint Bale regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Quint Bale last raced on 11/5/16. Mrs. Collins stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right hock injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Quint Bale trialled over the 400m from box 1, weight 34.8kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.74, the greyhound was beated by a margin of 9 lengths. Quint Bale was cleared.
