Steward's Report
The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Chick's Buzzard and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 3.11pm due to weight variation. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mrs. H. Gates was fined the sum of $100.
A pre-race sample was taken from Select Selwood.
Joie Eclat was quick to begin. Kiyoshi and Select Selwood collided soon after the start. Select Selwood, Hot Genetics and Brodie's Mullet collided approaching the first turn. Dr. Ripped and Hot Genetics collided on the home turn.
Dr. Ripped was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Ms. J. Holden the trainer of Tyrone Kahn regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Tyrone Kahn last raced on 22/07/16. Ms. Holden stated that the greyhound was returning from a right wrist injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A Tyrone Kahn trialled over 315 metres from box 1, weight 34.2kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.24 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9 lengths. Tyrone Kahn was cleared.
