Westcoast Boy and Hurricane Sam were slow to begin.  Westcoast Boy and Hurricane Elyse collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Sultan's Boy and Sight Screen collided approaching the first turn checking Sultan's Boy, Sight Screen, Westcoast Boy, Hurricane Elyse, Little Mischa and Hurricane Sam.  Little Mischa raced wide in the home straight.

A pre-race sample from Babs Streishound was aborted due to contamination, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Babs Streishound and Nanny's Poppy were quick to begin.  Stephie Keats, Sunset Kay and Pure Cascade were slow to begin.  Amaroo Loco crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Nanny's Poppy and Babs Steishound. Shoot The Moon was checked off Runnin' On Fire entering the back straight.  Sunset Kay was checked off Babs Streishound entering the back straight checking Babs Streishound.  Nanny's Poppy and Runnin' On Fire collided in the back straight checking Nanny's Poppy.  Runnin' On Fire was checked off Amaroo Loco in the back straight checking Amaroo Loco.  Shoot The Moon and Pure Cascade collided on the second turn checking Shoot The Moon.  Shoot The Moon was checked off Pure Cascade on the home turn.

Kokoda Storm, Dave's Girl and Capel Sound were slow to begin.  Orataya and Zulu Zoe collided soon after the start.  Dave's Girl contacted the running rail on the first turn checking Capel Sound.  Kokoda Storm was checked off Capel Sound approaching the second turn and tailed off.

Kokoda Storm was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right hind leg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Corroboree and Terrace collided soon after the start.  Destructo Rat crossed to the rail soon after the start and collided with Shy Freddie, Dr. Squidley, Rusty Sidebottom and Eagleeye Norris checking Eagleeye Norris.  Rusty Sidebottom, Dr. Squidley, Shy Freddie, Corroboree and Terrace collided on the first turn checking Rusty Sidebottom and Dr. Squidley.  Rusty Sidebottom was checked off Dr. Squidley in the back straight.  Shy Freddie and Terrace collided in the back striaght checking Shy Freddie.  Destructo Rat was checked off Claude Van Keats on the second turn.  Terrace was checked off Corroboree in the home straight.  Destructo Rat was checked off Claude Van Keats in the home straight.

Lyley Lass was a late scratching at 3:52pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Little Ferret, It's Debatable and Pawfection collided soon after the start.  Little Ferret and Dr. Dunstan collided entering the back straight severley checking Little Ferret and subsequently checking It's Debatable.  Special Member and Dr. Watson collided approaching the second turn.

Little Ferret was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right wrist, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. McMillan, the trainer of Zipping Frank regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Zipping Frank last raced on 14 October 2016 and is returning from a right triangle injury.

A pre-race sample was taken from Suzie.

Zipping Frank was slow to begin.  Dr. Valhalla was checked off All About Arby soon after the start.  Le Doyen crossed to the rail on the first turn.  Suzie, All About Arby and Dr. Bodacious collided on the first turn checking Busta Voe, Sonny's Honey, Dr. Valhalla and Zipping Frank and severley checking Dr. Bodacious, All About Arby and Suzie.  All About Arby was checked off Dr. Bodacious on the second turn.  Zipping Frank and Sonny's Honey collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds.  All About Arby was checked off Dr. Bodacious in the home straight.

Suzie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right calf, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Still Destined was a late scratching at 6:27pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a right back muscle injury.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Max Roxy and Steinbeck Knew were quick to begin.  Summer Kate and Big Burkey were slow to begin.  Big Burkey crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Summer Kate.  Dr. Simon, Black Train and Daintree Rhumba collided on the first turn checking Black Train.  Steinbeck Knew and Daintree Rhumba collided entering the back straight checking Daintree Rhumba and Dr. Simon.  Big Burkey was checked off Max Roxy on the second turn.  Max Roxy and Black Train collided approaching the home turn.  Summer Kate raced wide entering the home straight.

Jake was slow to begin.  Soda Storm, Scorching Fella, Johnny Scull and Jake collided on the first turn checking Johnny Scull and Jake.  Dark Avenger, Johnny Scull and Jake collided on the second turn checking Johnny Scull.  Jake galloped on Soda Storm approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Holler At Me, Yeah Mint, Miss Sim and Power Burst collided approaching the first turn checking Yeah Mint.  Yeah Mint was checked off Miss Sim on the first turn.  Power Burst and Holler At Me collided on the first turn.  Bernmar Terry raced wide in the home straight.

Power Burst was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained and injured neck and right hind leg, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Hello Nimble was slow to begin.  Hello Nimble, Gee Whiz Gran and Every Cloud collided approaching the first turn checking Gee Whiz Gran.  Salute The Bar was checked off Cracking Joe on the first turn causing Salute The Bar to stumble and lose ground as a result.  Every Cloud was checked off Hello Nimble approaching the home turn.  Hello Nimble, Salute The Bar and Dr. Illuminate collided entering the home straight.

Salute the Bar was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

A pre-race sample was taken from Black Bindi.

Better Beware was slow to begin.  Black Bindi crossed to the rail soon after the start and collided with Dr. Phil, Gotta Permit and Our First Lady.  Usain Gilbert and Joni Sunset collided approaching the first turn checking Usain Gilbert.  Better Beware was checked off Our First Lady on the first turn checking Our First Lady.  Joni Sunset raced wide approaching the home turn checking Better Beware.  Usain Gilbert was checked off Gotta Permit approaching the home turn checking Our Fist Lady and Joni Sunset.  Better Beware raced wide in the home straight.

Mr. B. Moles, trainer of Brodie's Mullet declared a new weight of 32.4 for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Brodie's Mullet last raced at 33.8.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately 3 minutes due to the camera man being out of position when the green light was activated signalling the starter to commence boxing the greyhounds.  The greyhounds 1, 3, 5, and 7 which had been boxed were removed from the boxes, re-vetted and passed fit to race.

Kiyoshi and Sir Fancy were slow to begin.  Crusader and Mr. Nasty Time collided soon after the start.  Bandit Brad, Brodie's Mullet and Lucky's Spirit collided approaching the first turn checking Lucky's Spirit.  Saloon Princess was checked off Crusader on the first turn.  Brodie's Mullet and Bandit Brad collided on the first turn checking Brodie's Mullet and Lucky's Spirit.  Bandit Brad was checked off Mr. Nasty Time on the home turn.

Sir Fancy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left wrist and right hind leg, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Saloon Princess was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards issued a warning to Ms. L. Davis the representative of Saloon Princess regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight.
