Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr N.Sheehan, the trainer of Mega Jewels regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Mega Jewels last raced on 8 September 2016. Mr Sheehan stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after being seasonal.
Crazy Jo Jo was vetted prior to the event and passed fit to race.
Crazy Jo Jo and Showtime Sally were quick to begin. Ridd's Flyer and Powerful Senor were slow to begin. Mega Jewels and Miss Adok collided soon after the start. Fast Freddie, Mega Jewels and Miss Adok collided approaching the first turn, checking Mega Jewels. Crazy Jo Jo and Showtime Sally collided on the first turn. Ridd's Flyer, Fast Freddie and Miss Adok collided on the first turn, checking Fast Freddie and Miss Adok. Powerful Senor contacted the running rail on the first turn.
Powerful Senor was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left biceps and left shoulder, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Crazy Jo Jo, a post race sample was subsequently taken.
