Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Dromore's Opal upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Dromore's Opal was a late scratching at 1:25pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was taken from Machiko.
Machiko and Get Along Daisy were quick to begin. Telling Lies and Paua Invader were slow to begin. Machiko crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Max Roxy and Telling Lies. Miz Josie eased approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Tatti, the trainer of the greyhound Miz Josie regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Miz Josie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left triangle muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Mr. Tatti declinded to have his greyhound re-vetted. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Miz Josie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Tatti pleaded guilty to the charge. Miz Josie was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
