Stewards spoke to R. Crawford, Trainer of Heard It Before regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between racing. Heard It Before last raced on 29 July 2015. Mr. Crawford stated that the greyhound is a new addition to his kennel. 

Pursuant to GAR 31(3), Stewards extended the close of kennels by 20 minutes after heavy congestion on the Monash Freeway.

A pre-race sample was taken from Georgia upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Slick Ice, Heard It Before and Allen Jersey were slow to begin.  Aston Shiraz and Zipping Laura collided soon after the start.  Georgia and Zipping Laura collided on the first turn,  Aston Shiraz and Slick Ice collided on the first turn and again approaching the second turn checking Georgia and Zipping Laura.  Heard It Before contacted the running rail entering the back straight and lost ground.  Slick Ice galloped on the heels of Aston Force in the back straight checking both greyhounds.  Starlight Lucy, Aston Shiraz, Aston Force and Slice Ice collided on the third turn checking Aston Force and Slick Ice.  Georgia and Slick Ice collided several times approaching the winning post.

Heard It Before was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the left thigh, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Flywheel Alfie, Ballymac Finola and Star Lord were slow to begin.  Macalister Sam and Gamilla Go Girl collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Beautiful Rick and Ballymac Finola collided approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Flywheel Alfie checked off Macalister Sam on the third turn.

Oakvale Destiny and It's A Blast were slow to begin.  Sir Charleton and Trace Amount collided on the first turn checking Trace Amount.  Jayco Bale and Oakvale Destiny collided on the first turn.  Beau Mambo and Oakvale Destiny collided on the fourth turn and again approaching the home turn.

Ibrox Digger was quick to begin.  Brazen Bull and Andiamo Neo collided several times approaching the first turn.  Andiamo Neo, Ima Fairytale and Memphis Dream collided approaching the first turn checking Ima Fairytale.  Ikaku Bale, Tobias Kelton and Andiamo Neo collided on the first turn checking Andiamo Neo and Ima Fairytale causing Ima Fairytale to race wide.  Memphis Dream raced wide on the second turn.  Ibrox Digger and Harlon collided entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

Sisco Rage and Weston East were slow to begin.  Sisco Rage, Weston East, Full On Bling, Zipping Eastwood, Xtreme Knocka and Waymore's Blues collided approaching the first turn checking Weston East, Full On Bling and Zipping Eastwood.  Sisco Rage and Waymore's Blues collided on the first turn.  Waymore's Blues checked off Sisco Rage approaching the second turn.  Yadi and Waymore's Blues collided approaching the third turn checking Xtremem Knocka.  Zipping Eastwood checked off Weston East approaching the home turn.

Rivergum Drive was slow to begin.  Ivy Bale and Caustic Bale collided soon after the start.  Lektra Utopia and Amaro Bale collided soon after the start.  Rivergum Drive checked off Weblec Belle on the first turn.  Banjo Bewdy and Amaro Bale collided approaching the second turn and again on the second turn.  Ivy Bale and Caustic Bale collided on the third turn.

Ms B. Ennis was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound, He's So Good, pursuant to GAR 33.

A pre-race sample was taken from Dynamic Punch.

Repayments was slow to begin.  Dr. Brandon checked off White Bandit soon after the start.  Dynamic Punch and Ebert Bale collided on the first turn.  He's So Good checked off White Bandit in the back straight causing Hard Bargain to gallop on the heels of He's So Good, severely checking both greyhounds.  Dynamic Punch and Dr. Brandon collided on the third turn.  Ebert Bale eased approaching the home turn, severely checking Hard Bargain which subsequently tailed off.  Wahlberg and Repayments collided entering the home straight.

Hard Bargain was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Ebert Bale was vetted following the event and was revetted following Race 12.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained low neck pain and soreness in both thigh muscles, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr T. Dailly, Representative of the greyhound, Ebert Bale.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Ebert Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge.  Ebert Bale was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Eaton Bale was slow to begin.  Eaton Bale and Creative Karisma collided approaching the first turn.  Eaton Bale checked off Creative Karisma on the first turn.  Creative Karisma checked off El Surrao approaching the third turn.  El Surrao checked off Allen Marky on the third turn.  El Surrao and Creative Karisma collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

Eaton Bale was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Meeting Comments:

Carly Jay was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and was cleared to race.   Acting under GAR 83, Stewards directed that a urine sample be taken from the greyhound.

A pre-race sample was taken from Take The Crown.

Last  Boy Scout and Both Sides Now collided soon after the start checking Our Zayney Nash.  Kenju Bale and One For Me collided approaching the first turn.  One For Me and Dyna Keitaro collided on the first turn causing Dyna Keitaro to race wide.  Take The Crown checked off Schooner Doll approaching the second turn, severely checking Last Boy Scout and Both Sides Now.  Both Sides Now checked off Dyna Keitaro on the third turn.

A urine and blood sample was taken from Schooner Doll, the winner of the event.
