Linda Bale was quick to begin. Raglan Bindi was slow to begin. Penny Worth, Neve Allen and Capricorn Storm collided soon after the start, checking Neve Allen. Raglan Bindi checked off Paints A Story on the first turn. Neve Allen raced wide on the home turn. 

A sample was taken from Calendar Boy - the winner of the event. 

Shakey Sally was a late scratching at 9.56a.m. due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Monaghan, the trainer of Smiley Bynes regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Smiley Bynes last raced on 5th October, 2016. Mr. Monaghan stated that the greyhound was new to his kennel.  Mr. Monaghan  also declared a new weight of 29.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Smiley Bynes last raced at 30.4kg.

Fine Wine and Alex Fields were slow to begin. Skidlisha, Kalahari Sands and Mahjong Rule collided on the first turn, severely checking Kalahari Sands, Smiley Bynes, Casta Bale and Alex Fields. Fine Wine checked off Skidlisha in the home straight.

Destini Laredo, Colluding and Dashing Dream were slow to begin. Cosmic George and Jody Baxter collided soon after the start, checking Cosmic George. Destini Laredo checked off Cosmic George approaching the first turn. Colluding and Cosmic George collided on the first turn. Jody Baxter and Mahjong Baby collided on the first turn. Dashing Dream and Mahjong Baby collided approaching the home turn. Colluding and Dashing Dream collided on the home turn. 

Audacious Mickan was slow to begin. Dyna Yatul, Mate Bale and In A Rush collided soon after the start. Dyna Yatul checked off Crump's Legend approaching the first turn. Mate Bale checked off In A Rush approaching the home turn, checking Gabrielle Allen and Crump's Legend. Gabrielle Allen and Crump's Legend collided entering the home straight. 

Dyna Yatul was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail to the left hind foot, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

K. Heinrich. kennel representative of Allen Gable declared a new weight of 31.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Allen Gable last raced at 33.0kg.

Philo Bale and Yuken Duet collided soon after the start, checking both greyhounds. Allen Gable checked off Lektra Flame approaching the home turn. Yuken Duet and Be Hopeful collided on the home turn, Be Hopeful raced wide as a result. Bingo Sally raced wide in the home straight. 

My Girl Belena was slow to begin. Fetty Wap and Eranna Bale collided soon after the start, checking Fetty Wap. Freakish Flash checked off Ellen's Stardust approaching the first turn. Allen Ichiro checked off Bee Rose approaching the home turn. Eranna Bale and Taarie Bale collided approaching the home turn, checking Taarie Bale and Fetty Wap. Fetty Wap marred Taarie Bale in the home straight, checking both greyhounds.

Fetty Wap was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Collins, the handler of the greyhound Fetty Wap regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Fetty Wap with marring. Mr. Collins pleaded guilty to the charge, Fetty Wap was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr. J. Loverso kennel representative of Riley Bale declared a new weight of 27.6kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Riley Bale last raced at 28.8kg.

Golden Warrior was slow to begin. Ethla Allen and Oscorp Bale collided soon after the start. Claretown Cindy crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Night King, Riley Bale, She's Vivacious and Mint Boy. Oscorp Bale, Ethla Allen and She's Vivacious collided approaching the first turn, checking Ethla Allen and She's Vivacious. Riley Bale checked off Mint Boy on the first turn. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Baroness Jill upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Sunny Village checked off Aston Prada on the first turn. Sunny Village raced wide on the home turn, causing Cracking Joe to race wide as a result. Baroness Jill failed  to pursue the lure with due commitment entering the home straight and collided with Star Desire. Star Desire checked off Baroness Jill in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Matthyssen, the handler of the greyhound Baroness Jill regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Baroness Jill  with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Matthyssen pleaded guilty to the charge, Baroness Jill was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Admiral Bay and Reignlee were quick to begin. Reignlee crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Pep Cee Kola and Fat Noel. Maximum Maddy checked off Fat Noel on the first turn. Fat Noel contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground as a result. Pep Cee Kola, Maximum Maddy and Fat Noel collided approaching the home turn, checking Telling Lies. Telling Lies checked off Maximum Maddy approaching the home turn.

Bank Rogue was slow to begin. Cool Boots and Zahra Bella collided soon after the start, checking Cool Boots. Bank Rogue and Tricky Tron collided approaching the home turn, checking Tricky Tron. Lektra Damage checked off Superstar Jatt on the home turn. Superstar Jatt raced wide entering the home straight and again in the home straight. 

Jimmy's Angel was a late scratching at 6.21p.m. on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to an elevated temperature. A  5 day stand down period was imposed.
