Stewards spoke to Mr. W.Punshon, the trainer of Wilma'sThunder regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.Wima's Thunder last raced on 01 April 2015. Mr. Punshon stated that Wima's Thunder was returning to racing from a left triangle injury.
Ernie Old and Wilma's Thunder were slow to begin. Tigress Eight, Cosmic Cruiser, Gia and Wilma's Thunder collided on the first turn checking Tigress Eight, Cosmic Cruiser and Wilma's Thunder. Major Spoils, Rhapsody Twist and Ernie Old collided on the first turn checking Major Spoils and Rhapsody Twist. Tigress Eight, Cosmic Cruise and Wilma's Thunder collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking all three greyhounds. Wilma's Thunder raced wide as a result.
