A pre-race sample was taken from Rowdy Ronda upon arrival at the course, prior to kenneling.
This event was delayed for approximately 2 minutes to allow the completion of a race at Cranbourne gallops.
Remote Control was slow to begin. Dyna Tiber and Dr. Don collided approaching the first turn checking Dr. Don. Ultimate Bale and Dr. Don collided on the first turn. Dyna Tiber, Rowdy Ronda and Dr. Don collided on the home turn causing Rowdy Ronda to fall and Dyna Tiber to race wide. Lektra Utopia and Remote Control raced wide in the home straight.
Upon completion of the event, the Club Veterinary Suregon pronounced that Rowdy Ronda had sustained a fractured neck and was deceased.
Ultima Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that that the greyhound had sustained an injury to the right back muscle, a 30 day stand down period was imposed.
