Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Shaw, handler of the greyhound Big Black Rocket which had not raced since 4 August 2016. Mr Shaw stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after recovering from a left hind leg injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Scarlett Lad.
Markinch and Winlock Bird collided soon after the start checking Markinch. Big Black Rocket, Janray Blue Nero, Winlock Bird, Glory Rose and Proven Mona collided approaching the first turn checking Big Black Rocket and Glory Rose. Petite Senorita and Proven Mona collided on the first turn. Janray Blue Nero and Winlock Bird collided on the first turn. Big Black Rocket and Markinch collided on the first turn. Big Black Rocket, Janray Blue Nero, Petite Senorita, Winlock Bird and Scarlett Lad collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Petite Senorita which fell, severely checking Janray Blue Nero which fell, severely checking Big Black Rocket and Markinch as a result.
Petite Senorita was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right hind foot, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Janray Blue Nero was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
