Short Blond Hair and Over It Tommy collided approaching the first turn checking Over It Tommy, which stumbled as a result, severely checking Major Blast and Duty Sheet. Very Venom galloped on the heels of Short Blond Hair approaching the home turn. Duty Sheet raced wide on the home turn. Rock It Ronny, Very Venom and Short Blond Hair raced wide approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr J. Vassallo after the greyhound Mahlo Nacho was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Mr. Vassallo was issued with a warning and reminded when kennelling he ensures greyhounds are kennelled in accordance with kennel procedure. 

Stewards spoke to kennel attendant, Mr R. Gladman after the greyhound Mahlo Nacho was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. Mr. Gladman was reminded of their responsibilities and asked to ensure that all greyhounds are correctly kennelled in future. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration. 

This race stared two minutes late due to Sky Channel committments with Launceston gallops.

Kentucky Sun was slow to begin.

Mahlo Nacho and Runaway Jack collided soon after the start checking Runaway Jack. Crackerjack Shak, Mahlo Nacho and Crackerjack Dave collided approaching the first turn, checking Mahlo Nacho. Allen Simon and Apres Party collided on the first turn checking Apres Party. 

Runaway Jack was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was a spike wound to the right hock, no stand down period was imposed.

Mr G. Dailly handler of Dyna Hadvar declared a new weight of 34.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Dyna Hadvar last raced at 33.6kg.

A pre-race sample was taken from Tomdor.

Broadway Belle, Tomdor and Dyna Hadvar were slow to begin. Dyna Hadvar and Jody Baxter collided several times approaching the first turn. Jody Baxter galloped on the heels of Tomdor approaching the home turn, checking Jody Baxter and causing Tomdor to race wide. Dyna Hadvar failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight.

Dyna Hardvar was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Handler Mr. G. Dailly declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Dailly, the handler of the greyhound Dyna Hadvar regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Dyan Hadvar with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. G. Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge, Dyna Hadvar was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cadalora and Time Sent were slow to begin.

Quartz Vein and Bee Rose collided soon after the start. Cadalora, Mahaya and Time Sent collided on the first turn checking Mahaya. Greenback Boogie, Bee Rose and Cadalora collided approaching the second turn checking Cadalora. Quartz Vein brushed the running rails approaching the second turn. Mahaya checked off Precious Destini approaching the second turn. Quartz Vein and Precious Destini collided approaching the home turn. Cadalora and Bee Rose collided in the home straight. Mahaya raced wide in the home straight.

Cosmic Odette was quick to begin.

Cashin' In and Eppy Bale collided soon after the start. Shirdon Connorae and Eppy Bale collided approaching the first turn. Reckoning and Lektra Flame collided on the first turn checking Lektra Flame. Black Pontiac checked off the heels of Lektra Flame approaching the home turn and raced wide as a result. Reckoning and Shades Of Sassy collided approaching the home turn. Reckoning eased approaching the winning post and collided with Cosmic Odette, checking Cosmic Odette.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. S. Thompson, the handler of the greyhound Reckoning regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Reckoning was vetted and re-vetted following race 9.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both thigh muscles, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Reckoning with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mrs Thompson pleaded not guilty to the charge, Reckoning was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mahogany Saphire was quick to begin. Rowdy Richard and Stocktake were slow to begin.

Furious Jack and Pure Zest collided soon after the start, checking Pure Zest. Pure Zest and Stocktake collided on the first turn. Nessa Shim and Furious Jack collided on the second turn checking Nessa Shim. Stocktake checked off Nessa Shim approaching the home turn.

Ming Men Shen and Quisp Bale collided soon after the start. Taz's Man and Mako collided soon after the start, checking Taz's Man. De Goey, Quisp Bale and Frozen Nitro collided approaching the first turn, checking Frozen Nitro. 

Frozen Nitro was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder muscle, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Brazen Beetroot raced wide on the home turn checking Weekend In Paris. Alezan and Doyne King collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Missed My Stop and Legal collided soon after the start.  Team Son and Brazen Bullet collided soon after the start. Legal and Reality Girl collided approaching the first turn. Team Son and Brazen Bullet collided approaching the first turn checking Brazen Bullet. Team Son checked off the heels of Legal on the first turn, stumbled and collided with Juggernaut Train and lost considerable ground. Brazen Bullet and Missed My Stop collided on the first turn checking Brazen Bullet. Legal checked off Reality Girl approaching the home turn. Major Gold raced wide approaching the winning post.

Lonnie Lad, Regional Chief and Little Mix collided soon after the start, checking Regional Chief. Little Mix and Samsara Lass collided approaching the first turn checking Little Mix. Hit The Beat checked off Samsara Lass approaching the first turn.  Let's Run and Samsara Lass collided on the first turn checking Samsara Lass, Miss Moto, Lonnie Lad, Regional Chief and Little Mix, causing Hit The Beat to fall. Miss Moto raced wide in the home straight. 

Hit The Beat was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left hamstring, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Bob On and Sketchy Jack collided soon after the start. Koch and Robyn's Boy collided approaching the first turn checking Koch and Admiral Bay. Sketchy Jack and We Froff Dat collided on the first turn checking Sketchy Jack, Bob On and Admiral Bay. Robyn's Boy checked off French Affair approaching the home turn. Robyn's Boy and French Affair collided entering the home straight. French Affair checked off Robyn's Boy approaching the winning post.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr P. Gabriel, the trainer of All Included regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  All Included last raced on 28/5/2016. Mr Gabriel stated that All Included is returning to racing from a right shoulder injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, All Included trialled over the 390 from box 8 weight 29.4kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 22.30 the greyhound was beaten a margin of 3.25 lengths. All Included was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr P. Gabriel, the trainer of Stroma regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Stroma last raced on 16/5/2016. Mr Gabriel stated that Stroma is returning to racing from a right back muscle injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Stroma trialled over the 390M from box 3, weight 33.6kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 22.30, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8 lengths. Stroma was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Sweet Barbados trialled over the 390M from box 1, weight 28.0kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 22.30, the greyhound won by a margin of 3.25 lengths. Sweet Barbados was cleared.
