Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Sheehan, the trainer of Sparkling Jewels regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Sparkling Jewels last raced on 18th April, 2016. Mr. Sheehan stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season.

The start of this event was delayed by 6 minutes, due to a problem with the photo finish equipment.

Sparkling Jewels was quick to begin. Foxzami Storm and Over It Tommy collided approaching the first turn. Discovered crossed to the outside approaching the first turn, checking Foxzami Storm. Red Rocket Sox and Lonnie Magic collided approaching the home turn, checking Lonnie Magic. Quarter To galloped on the heels of Sparkling Jewels appraching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Quarter To raced wide on the home turn and collided with Lonnie Magic. Quarter To and Lonnie Magic collided entering the home straight, severely checking both greyhounds.

Milly's Choice was quick to begin. Cordite Alert was slow to begin. Ha Ha Gotcha and Smashing Serena collided approaching the first turn. Ha Ha Gotcha checked off Smashing Serena on the first turn. Blow Out and Aston Buddy collided on the first turn, checking Cordite Alert and Aston Buddy. Blow Out and Smashing Serena collided approaching the home turn. Blow Out and Ha Ha Gotcha collided approaching the home turn. Cordite Alert and Aston Buddy collided approaching the home turn. Ha Ha Gotcha checked off Cudgee's Myla entering the home straight and raced wide. Smashing Serena and Milly's Choice collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Thomson, the trainer of Blackberry Road regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Blackberry Road last raced on 19th May, 2016. Mr. Thomson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell/conditioning.

Mr. C. Dyett, kennel representative of Mighty Duck declared a new weight of 31.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Mighty Duck last raced at 33.2kg.

Herbilly and Sketchy Jack collided soon after the start.

King Obama and Lucky Holly collided approaching the first turn. Cordite Extra, Lucky Holly and King Obama collided on the first turn. Cordite Extra checked off Cosmic Don on the first turn. Cordite Extra, Lucky Holly and King Obama collided approaching the home turn, checking Lucky Holly. Ultra Bear and Helen Baxter collided approaching the home turn.

Country Jane was quick to begin. Country Jane and Teflon Toby collided soon after the start, checking Teflon Toby and Breakwater Bay. Lektra Munster and Breakwater Bay collided approaching the first turn, checking Lektra Munster. Ma Ma Keogh and Bushman's Luck collided on the first turn. Lektra Boss, Teflon Toby and Country Jane collided on the first turn. Country Jane checked off Teflon Toby approaching the home turn. 

An Out of Competition Sample (Blood, Hair & Urine) was taken from Pretty Machine engaged in this event on the 12th October 2016, pursuant to GAR 79A.

A pre race sample was taken from Fawn Pursuit.

Dr. Yanma, Robyn's Boy and Fawn Pursuit collided soon after the start, checking Robyn's Boy. Hashtag Jordan and Lucky Tetris collided approaching the first turn. Robyn's Boy, Fawn Pursuit and Tear Away Babe collided on the first turn, checking Tear Away Babe and Fawn Pursuit. Hashtag Jordan faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off. Tear Away Babe checked off Fawn Pursuit in the home straight. Lucky Tetris and Dr. Yanma collided in the home straight. 

Hashtag Jordan was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right monkey muscle and left quadriceps, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon, the trainer of Dr. Darkrai regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Dr. Darkrai last raced on 7th May, 2016. Mr. McMahon stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell.  Mr. McMahon also declared a new weight of 32.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Dr. Darkrai last raced at 30.8kg.

Steward spoke to Mr. J. Sheahan, the trainer of Saywah Tonayo regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Saywah Tonayo last raced on 18th June, 2016. Mr. Sheahan stated that the greyhound was returning from an injury to the right hock. Mr. Sheahan also  declared a new weight of 35.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Saywah Tonayo last raced at 34.0kg.

Cudgee Destroyer, Oh Lele Peter and New Club Crawf were slow to begin. Cudgee Destroyer and Oh Lele Peter collided soon after the start. New Club Crawf checked off Guillermo on the first turn. New Club Crawf, Saywah Tonayo and Lonnie Lad collided approaching the home turn, checking Lonnie Lad and Saywah Tonayo.  Brazen Bull and Dr. Darkrai collided approaching the winning post.

Arolok Jane and Fear The Boss were slow to begin. Time's Up Tom, Bigshow Jethro and Show Bag Carter collided soon after the start, checking Bigshow Jethro. Marley Sprite checked off Panic Station on the first turn. Marley Sprite and Panic Station collided on the home turn. Fear The Boss crossed to the inside in the home straight, checking Ginger Warrior, Marley Sprite, Panic Station and Show Bag Carter. Arolok Jane checked off Fear The Boss in the home straight. 

Mr. M. Lloyd, handler of Home Runner declared a new weight of 31.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Home Runner last raced at 30.5kg.

Dr. Toretto was slow to begin. Skyes Apprentice, Slipaway Robbie, Miss Fox and Moore Of Darcy collided approaching the first turn, checking Skyes Apprentice, Slipaway Robbie and Miss Fox. New Job Jimmy and Home Runner collided approaching the first turn, checking Home Runner. Skyes Apprentice checked off Moore Of Darcy on the home turn. Home Runner and Miss Fox collided on the home turn. Home Runner checked off Skyes Apprentice entering the home straight, checking Miss Fox.

Pictish Mark was very slow to begin (3 Lengths). Jody Baxter and Myrniong Bomb collided on the first turn, checking Jody Baxter. Rayvon, Rising Girl and Optic Bray collided approaching the home turn, checking Rising Girl. Pictish Mark checked off Rising Girl approaching the home turn, checking Ocean Bay. Rising Girl checked off Rayvon in the home straight.

Fiery Felix was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left monkey muscle and an abrasion to the left elbow, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Lemon Chicken was quick to begin. Zipping Ethan and Maximum Owie were slow to begin. Amlin's Magic crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Augusta Dreaming, Airborn And Gone and Good Memories, and severely checking Call Me Daisy. Zipping Ethan and Amlin's Magic collided approaching the home turn, checking Amlin's Magic. Good Memories checked off Amlin's Magic on the home turn, severely checking Augusta Dreaming and Good Memories, Good Memories fell as a result. 

Call Me Daisy was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Good Memories was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
