Steward's Report
Clovalley Dave and Forever Merry were quick to begin. Southwood Max was slow to begin. Menindee and Militant Man collided soon after the start. Rave On and Menindee collided on the first turn checking Menindee. Forever Merry checked off Clovalley Dave on the first turn. Clovalley Dave, Militant Man and Elite Shiraz collided on the first turn checking Militant Man. Clovalley Dave and Elite Shiraz collided in the back straight and again on the second turn. Menindee raced wide in the back straight. Militant Man, Clovalley Dave and Elite Shiraz collided approaching the home turn. Menindee galloped on the heels of Elite Shiraz on the home turn severely checking Menindee which pulled up. Rave On and Clovalley Dave collided entering the home straight. Rave On and Forever Merry collided approaching the winning post.
Menindee was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right toes, right monkey muscle, left deltoid muscle, right pencil muscle and right triangle. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
Elite Shiraz was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration on the nose. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.
Stewards noted that the foot of Menindee became lodged in the muzzle during the running of the event.
Samples were taken from Militant Man 1st placegetter and Forever Merry 2nd placegetter.
