Steward's Report
Cogitate, Fleet Return and Benta Bale collided soon after the start checking Fleet Return. Emrys, Bruce Tycoon and Kenju Bale collided approaching the first turn. Crackerjack Bob and Black Illusion collided approaching the first turn checking Crackerjack Bob. Benta Bale checked off Black Illusion on the first turn. Cogitate, Fleet Return, Crackerjack Bob, Emrys, Bruce Tycoon and Kenju Bale collided on the first turn checking Cogitate, Bruce Tycoon, Kenju Bale and Emrys, severely checking Fleet Return and Crackerjack Bob, both fell as a result. Cogitate and Bruce Tycoon collided approaching the second turn. Cogitate and Bruce Tycoon collided on the second turn checking Kenju Bale. Cogitate and Bruce Tycoon collided entering the home straight checking Cogitate. Cogitate eased in the home straight and collidied with Bruce Tycoon as a result.
Cogitate was vetted following the event and was revetted following Race 12. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Handler of Cogitate, Mr A. Osborne. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), stewards charged Cogitate with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Osborne pleaded not guilty to the charge, Cogitate was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
