Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr K Lloyd, the handler of Country Jane, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Country Jane last raced on 20 April 2016. Mr Lloyd stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a change of kennel.
Captain Pete and Monaleen Monty were slow to begin. Monaleen Monty checked off Captain Pete approaching the first turn. Country Jane and Brazen Blue collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Country Jane which contacted the rail and fell, and severely checking Captain Pete. Jazzy Diva and Monaleen Monty collided approaching the home turn, checking Monaleen Monty which fell.
Country Jane was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hindleg. No stand down period was imposed.
Captain Pete was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Monaleen Monty was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right foreleg, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
