Steward's Report

Walk Woody Walk, Cosmic Missile and Just Wins were slow to begin.  Zipping Comet was checked off Sidute approaching the first turn checking Just Wins.  Cosmic Missile, Zipping Comet and Goodnight Skye collided on the first turn.  Walk Woody Walk and Goodnight Skye collided several times in the back straight.  Cosmic Missile and Sidute collided on the home turn.  Sidute eased in the home straight and collided with Cosmic Missile as a result.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Wood the trainer of the greyhound Sidute regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Sidute was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) the Stewards charged Sidute with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Mr. Wood pleaded not guilty to the charge, Sidute was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Bebington - winner of the event.
