The start of this race was delayed by 1 minute due to heavy fog.
Tear Away Kuda, Rage Bale, Lachlan Fantasy, Yaris Bale and Molly Brown collided soon after the start checking Yaris Bale and Molly Brown. Tear Away Kuda and Rage Bale collided approaching the first turn. Lachlan Fantasy and Mighty Sam collided approaching the first turn checking Lachlan Fantasy. Yaris Bale and Mighty Sam collided approaching the home turn.
Tear Away Kuda was vetted and after being re-vetted following event five, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right scapula, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards held the all clear for this race. After viewing the official replay and acting on their own observations, Stewards were satisfied that the fog had no impact on the running of the race. All clear was given on the numbers 1, 3, 7 and 2. Due to a malfunction with the photo finish, placings were determined using the back up system and splits for this race were hand timed.
