Steward's Report
A pre–race urine sample was taken from Playback.
Capricorn One was quick to begin.
Highland Duke lost ground in the back straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Pursuant to GAR 122, the Stewards requested kennel representative Mr. David Kerr to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Highland Duke in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
Hey Presto underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left groin and left back muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Robin Moore regarding the racing manners of Hey Presto in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Moore, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, a warning was issued. A post-race urine sample was taken for analysis.
