Steward's Report
Son Of Duke was quick to begin. Astonishing Lady was slow to begin.
Indestruct, Tilly Girl and Axel's Radar raced wide in the home straight.
Son Of Duke (visibly eased turning off the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right quadriceps injury and right foreleg shin soreness. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Barry regarding Son Of Duke’s racing manners turning off the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Son Of Duke was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Barry pleaded not guilty to the charge. Son Of Duke was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (2nd offence) at all tracks and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
