Brindle Chic was quick to begin. Bourne Supremacy was slow to begin.
Bourne Supremacy eased on the first turn and subsequently tailed off. Bourne Supremacy underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Mr. Clinton Rand declined the option to have the greyhound re–examined. Stewards spoke to Mr. Rand regarding Bourne Supremacy's racing manners on the first turn position. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Bourne Supremacy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Rand pleaded guilty to the charge. Bourne Supremacy was suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Block Busted faltered turning off the back straight. Block Busted underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
