Abraxas Bale was slow to begin.
May So Dreaming made contact with the running rail as it approached the first turn, resulting in a severe check and causing the greyhound to fall. This incident led to Temper Trap being severely checked and losing ground. These greyhounds underwent a post–race veterinary examinations;
-May So Dreaming was found to have a left thigh injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
