Steward's Report
Meeting Comments:
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 27 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.3 degrees.
The closing time of kennelling was altered in accordance with GAR 86 due to the late arrival of several trainers who experienced significant traffic delays en–route to the track. The kennels closed at 6:20pm.
Pursuant to the GRV Hot Weather Policy, Stewards dispensed with two requirements prior to Race 1, meaning greyhounds were no longer required to remain on course for the specified time, and that the parading of greyhounds was to occur, as the outside temperature had decreased to a reasonable level.
---
Honey Bunny was quick to begin. Scotch Time was slow to begin.
Tumby Bay (contacted the inside running rail turning out of the front straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
