Steward's Report
Red Shiraz, Rev Michael and Greysynd Sammy were slow to begin. Perfect Ace raced wide in the back straight.
Piebald (turned head outwards on the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hamstring injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr A.Azzopardi regarding Piebald’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Piebald was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Azoopardi pleaded guilty to the charge. Piebald was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Due to a technical malfuction there was no head on vision available in the home straight for this event.
