A pre-race urine sample was taken from Redback Express. 

Aston Asante was quick to begin. Blue Vista, Ring That Belle, Redback Express and Jelly Bean Jade were slow to begin. 

Redback Express (turned its head inward and marred Cowboy Cold in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representitive Mr. Mark Giddings regarding Redback Express' racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Redback Express was charged with marring. Mr. Giddings pleaded guilty to the charge. Redback Express suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cowboy Cold (turned its head outwards and marred Aston Vergara approaching the turn off of the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Paul Radstock regarding Cowboy Cold's racing manners on the turn out of the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Cowboy Cold was charged with marring. Mr. Radstock pleaded not guilty to the charge. Cowboy Cold was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Tonka Bale.

Tonka Bale underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to race.

Blackpool Wonka and Max Kane were quick to begin. Lose My Number, Tonka Bale and Super Mabior were slow to begin.

Super Mabior (severely checked turning out of the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury and right shin soreness. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Blackpool Wonka (visibly eased approaching the turn off of the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock sprain and a left triangle muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Adrian Kenyon regarding Blackpool Wonka's racing manners on the turn out of the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Blackpool Wonka was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Kenyon pleaded guilty to the charge. Blackpool Wonka must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Aston Affleck.

Aston Affleck was slow to begin.

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Sunshine Gold.

Bugs was quick to begin. Longdown was slow to begin.

Tinker Dan raced wide in the home straight.

Longdown (severely checked soon after the start and subsequently tailed off) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left back muscle injury.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Rapidfire Layla. 

Big Cone Tone and She's Reloaded were quick to begin. Northern Regie was slow to begin. 

Zipping Phoenix and Northern Regie raced wide in the home straight 

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Piranha Shake.

Darts Night and Break In were quick to begin. Redemption Rock and Rapidfire Serena were slow to begin.

Rapidfire Serena (checked and fell turning off the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions and a laceration on the left carpus. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Cody Hose regarding the Daisy May's racing manners passing the fallen Rapidfire Serena. After hearing evidence from Mr. Hose, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their own observations, Stewards took no further action. In arriving at this decision, Stewards took into consideration that Rapidfire Serena fell in front of Daisy May and the effect this incident would reasonably have had on the racing manners of Daisy May. 

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Big Boy Andre.

Big Boy Andre was slow to begin. 

Rothwell Boy raced wide in the home straight.

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Catch My Drift.

Smokin' Gracie was quick to begin. Catch My Drift was slow to begin.

Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Gary Mannion regarding the racing manners of Electra Guide in the home straight. Stewards heard submissions from Mr. Mannion, viewed the available race footage, and formed their own observations. Stewards noted that Electra Glide collided with Financier multiple times in the home straight. Stewards were not comfortably satisfied that Electra Glide's racing manners constituted a breach of the rules. Subsequently, Stewards took no further action. 

Vista Zircon - New declared weight of 33.2kg, last raced at 34.3kg. 

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Barellen Lace.

Spicy Madam and Kathlen's Entity were quick to begin.

Vista Zircon (checked turning into the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have laceration on the right fore. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Colour Violet. 

Chelsea Dagger and Majestic George were quick to begin. 

Steadfast Eddie – Late scratching at 10:00am due to weight variation (GAR 101). Steadfast Eddie is not permitted to compete for 10 days in any other Event. Trainer, Ms. Kathleen Boyle, was fined $100.

Hosey Sidekick was quick to begin. 

Lady Arandt (severely checked turning out of the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have laceration on the right lateral tibia. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Love A Bourbski. 

Strike A Night, My Girl Tori and Love A Bourbski were quick to begin.

A pre-race urine sample was taken from My Girl Piper.

Mini Minion and Zappy Bale were slow to begin.

My Girl Piper (severely checked in the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion. No stand down period was imposed.
