Steward's Report
Out of competition urine samples were taken from Aston Fantastic, Boracay Storm, Hotel Whisky One and Pass the Buck on 9 October pursuant to GAR 139. Out of competition urine samples were taken from Mile A Minute, Unleash In Miami and Zeus Thunderbolt on 10 October pursuant to GAR 139. An out of competition urine sample was taken from Matt Loch on 8 October pursuant to GAR 139.
Zeus Thunderbolt (faltered and tailed off on the first turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back and triangle muscle injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Unleash In Miami (marred Hotel Whisky One in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury and a spike wound to the right calf . A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr B.Greenough regarding Unleash In Miami’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Unleash In Miami was charged with marring. Mr Greenough pleaded guilty to the charge. Unleash In Miami was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post–race urine and blood samples were taken from Boracay Storm – placed first in the event.
