Steward's Report
Snow Renaissance, Bun Wildfire and Magic Dark Star were quick to begin.
Sunny Marionvale (turned head outwards in the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 9. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Brian Fothergill regarding Sunny Marionvale’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Sunny Marionvale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Fothergill pleaded guilty to the charge. Sunny Marionvale must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Snow Renaissance (trailed the field from entering the back straight onwards and lost considerable ground over the concluding stages) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left long head triceps injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Jamarra - winner of the event.
