Steward's Report

Arekay's Maiden and Magnetic Charm were slow out. Vote For Pedro and Dr. Laycock collided approaching the first turn checking Monshi. Dr. Laycock and Monshi collided approaching the second turn checking Dr. Laycock. Vote For Pedro checked off the heels of Zelena's Grace on the second turn and stumbled as a result checking Bomber Bandit. Zelena's Grace and Arekay's Maiden collided approaching the home turn severely checking Arekay's Maiden which stumbled as a result severely checking Vote For Pedro and Monshi. Dr. Laycock eased approaching the home turn and subsequently pulled up. Dr. Laycock was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left shoulder, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 98(1)(d), the stewards charged Dr. Laycock with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a STAT before any future nomination will be accepted. Monshi was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. A sample was taken from Bernie Rickshaw - the winner of the event.
