Saratoga, King Contagious and Arvo's Savanna were slow out.
Flinders Street and Elite Statement collided soon after start. Saratoga checked off the heels of Chance Appeal approaching the first turn. Remain Silent and Elite Statement collided approaching the first turn checking Elite Statement and Flinders Street. Arvo's Savanna crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Chance Appeal and King Contagious severely checking Remain Silent. Flinders Street and Elite Statement collided on the first turn checking Elite Statement. Saratoga raced wide on the home turn.
