Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Calimo. A post-race blood sample was subsequently taken.
Mepunga Mustang and Garry Stun On were quick to begin. Whodat Shanlyn was slow to begin.
Whodat Shanlyn (turned head outwards on the home turn) underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was re-examined at 8.50pm, and was found to have a left sartorius muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mrs. Lisa Delbridge regarding Whodat Shanlyn's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Whodat Shanlyn was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. Delbridge pleaded guilty to the charge. Whodat Shanlyn was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Fernando Duke - the winner of the event.
