Steward's Report
Poacher Flash, Defib Daryl, Ash Flash and Bell Haven were slow to begin. Poacher Flash and Lucy Wires collided approaching the first turn. Poacher Flash, Lucy Wires and Defib Daryl collided on the first turn, checking Poacher Flash and Lucy Wires. Lucy Wires checked off Defib Daryl approaching the second turn. Ash Flash checked off Poacher flash approaching the second turn. Defib Daryl, Jethro and Hala Belle collided on the fifth turn. Jethro and Hala Belle collided approaching the home turn. Defib Daryl veered out and marred the running of Bell Haven on the home turn and again in the home straight. Hala Belle checked off Lucy Wires entering the home straight. Jethro, Ash Flash and Newfire Rosie collided entering the home straight.
Poacher Flash was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right hock. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Defib Daryl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs M Mallia-Magri, the trainer of the greyhound Defib Daryl. Acting under GAR 69(1)(a), Stewards charged Defib Daryl with marring and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and directed that the greyghound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
